Chapter 47 : A Love That Doubled

Roohi’s pov

The soft morning light filtered through the curtains as I shifted slightly in bed, trying to find a comfortable position. At nine months pregnant, every movement felt like a battle. Just as I let out a small sigh, a warm hand touched my belly.

"Are you okay?" Vivaan's voice was laced with concern as he sat beside me, his fingers tracing gentle circles over my swollen stomach.

"I'm fine," I reassured him, though the weight pressing on my back told a different story.

Vivaan frowned, clearly unconvinced. "You say that every day, but I see you struggling, Roohi." He adjusted the pillows behind me, his touch featherlight yet firm, making sure I was comfortable.

I smiled at him, my heart swelling. "You worry too much."

"And you underestimate how much I love you," he replied, pressing a soft kiss on my forehead.

Vivaan had been extra careful these past few weeks—hovering around me, making sure I ate on time, helping me walk, even refusing to leave my side unless absolutely necessary. His love wasn’t in grand gestures; it was in the way he watched over me, the way he anticipated my needs before I could say them out loud.

Just as I was about to tease him about being overprotective, a sharp pain coursed through my belly. I sucked in a breath, gripping his wrist.

Vivaan instantly straightened. "Roohi?" His voice held a mix of panic and restraint.

"I... I think it’s time," I whispered, my voice trembling.

For a second, Vivaan froze. Then, as if a switch flipped, he sprang into action. "Okay, okay—breathe, Roohi. I'll get the hospital bag." His hands trembled slightly as he grabbed my things. "It’s happening... Our babies are coming."

Despite the pain, I chuckled. "Yes, our babies, Vivaan. Now hurry!"

Hours Later

The pain was unbearable, but Vivaan’s voice kept me anchored.

"You’re doing amazing, Roohi," he whispered, brushing damp strands of hair from my forehead. His lips found my knuckles, pressing kisses filled with love and reassurance.

And then, after what felt like an eternity, the sweetest sound filled the room - one soft cry, then another.

I turned my head slightly, exhaustion making my eyelids heavy. A nurse stepped closer, placing a tiny, wrapped bundle in Vivaan’s arms first. His eyes, always filled with so many emotions, shimmered with unshed tears. He looked at me, then back at the baby in his arms.

"A boy," he whispered, his voice hoarse.

And just as he said that, the doctor handed me another bundle. My arms felt weak, but the moment I held her, warmth bloomed in my heart.

"A girl," I whispered back, my vision blurring.

Vivaan leaned closer, his forehead resting against mine as we both looked at our children. Our children. It felt surreal, yet so right.

"We did it, Roohi," he murmured, voice thick with emotion.

I nodded, tears slipping down my cheeks. "We did."

He looked at our daughter and then at our son before chuckling softly. "Guess we just doubled our love."

I laughed through my tears, reaching up to cup his cheek. "And I wouldn’t have it any other way."

Vivaan pressed a lingering kiss to my forehead, his lips trembling. "Thank you, Roohi… for everything. For them. For us."

Aryan and meera came in while meera said"I am going to be their favorite bua. "

Aryan snickered, "No way... I am going to be the best chachu... I am gonna spoil them with love. "

Aryan and meera asked at the same time , "Have you decided their names? "

I looked at vivaan and we both replied at the same time, "Ishaan and Ishika. "

Aryan chuckled and replied, "that sounds pretty good. Thank god vivaan has a good taste. "

Dadi, maa and papa too came in... looking at our girl maa said, " She is a carbon copy of roohi. "

Papa chuckled and replied, "yeah, I remember how I took roohi in my arms and cried thanking God for fulfilling my wish of having a baby girl."

Papa took our boy in his arms and said, "but he is a carbon copy of our vivaan. "

Papa looked at maa and said with a chuckle, "Thank god vivaan is saved, atleast my daughter won't hit him and cry arguing like her mother saying that she carried them for nine months, but the baby looks like his father. "

Maa glared at him and retorted, "tonight don't think of sleeping inside my room. You're gonna sleep on the couch outside the room. "

Papa's expression changed, "Sweetheart this is not fair, you know right I can't sleep without you. "

We all chuckled at their banter,
And in that moment, with our little family wrapped in love, I knew - this was the happiest we had ever been.
