Chapter 17 : A New Dream Begins

Saisha's POV

The thought had been lingering in my mind for days, but I couldn't bring myself to say it. What if he thought I was being foolish? What if he said no?

But as I watch Pranay sitting across from me at dinner, casually scrolling through his camera, a deep realization settles in. This man , my husband - is the reason I stepped out of that small world I was confined to. If there's anyone I can tell, it's him.

I take a deep breath. "Pranu... I... I want to study photography."

His head snaps up, his eyes widening. "What?"

I swallow. "I want to learn photography, properly. Like you do."

For a moment, he just stares at me. My heart pounds in my chest. Maybe I was wrong to ask—

And then, his lips curl into the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. "Aishu..." His voice is soft, filled with something indescribable. "You have no idea how happy I am right now."

I blink. "You are?"

He nods, his eyes shining. "I was waiting for you to say something like this. You love photography, don't you? And you're good at it."

A warmth spreads through me. No one has ever believed in me like this before.

"So... we'll get you into a good college."

I hesitate. "But... is it okay? Managing everything?"

He reaches for my hand, squeezing it gently. "We'll handle it together, Aishu."

But before that did someone give me a nickname?. I blush hard at his comment.

"By the way aishu , no one has called me pranu before"

The way he says my name - it's filled with so much affection. I smile, my heart swelling.

A week later, we are standing in front of the Delhi College of Photography. The excitement bubbling inside me is mixed with nervousness.

"Pranu... what if I don't fit in?"

He chuckles, tucking a loose strand of my hair behind my ear. "You're going to be amazing, Aishu. Just be yourself."

He reassures me as I walk in. Every step feels like a new beginning.

The admission process is smoother than I expected. The professor asks, "Why do you want to study photography?" and I tell him the truth - how it makes me feel alive, how it shows me the world in a new way.

At the end of the day, when I step outside, Pranay is waiting for me, leaning against the bike.

"How was it?" he asks, handing me a water bottle.

I smile. "It was... good. A little overwhelming."

He grins. "That's how the best things in life start, Aishu."

I giggle, shaking my head. This man... I still can't believe how lucky I got.

As he drives us home, the wind rushing past us, I close my eyes for a moment, feeling the happiness settle deep in my heart.

A new journey has begun. And for the first time, it's one I've chosen for myself.

Saisha's POV

The morning air is crisp as I stand in front of the mirror, adjusting my dupatta for the hundredth time. My heart is racing. It's my first day at college. My first day stepping into a world that was never meant for me - at least, that's what I was always told.

I glance at Pranay, who is leaning against the doorframe, watching me with an amused smile.

"Aishu, you've been ready for the past ten minutes," he teases.

I fidget with my bag strap. "I just... I want to make a good impression."

He steps closer, his warm hands resting on my shoulders. "You're going to do great. Just be yourself."

I take a deep breath, nodding.

As we reach the college gate, I clutch my bag tightly. The place is buzzing with students, some chatting excitedly, others hurrying to class. It's so different from the life I've known.

Pranay parks the bike and turns to me. "Nervous?"

I nod.

He grins. "Aishu, do you remember the first time you held a camera?"

I blink. "Yes... I was scared I'd drop it."

"But you didn't. And look where that led you." He winks. "This is just like that. A new beginning."

His words calm me a little.

"Okay," I whisper.

He ruffles my hair. "That's my Aishu."

I roll my eyes but smile.

Just then, someone calls out, "Excuse me, are you a new student?"

I turn to see a girl about my age, dressed in jeans and a simple kurti. She has a friendly smile.

"Yes," I say.

"I'm Riya! Come, I'll show you around."

I glance back at Pranay, who gives me a thumbs-up.

"I'll pick you up later, Aishu," he says before riding off.

I watch him go, then turn to Riya. "Let's go."

The classrooms are big, filled with students who already seem comfortable. I take a deep breath and sit in an empty seat.

When the professor enters, everyone quiets down. "Welcome to the first-year photography batch. Let's start with introductions. Why do you want to be here?"

One by one, students share their dreams - some want to travel the world as photographers, others are passionate about nature or fashion.

When my turn comes, I hesitate. Then I remember Pranay's words. Just be yourself.

"I... I want to capture emotions, moments that people might not notice otherwise," I say softly.

The professor smiles. "That's a beautiful reason."

My heart swells with pride.

When I step out of the campus, Pranay is already there, waiting. He waves at me, and for the first time, I don't feel nervous about this new world.

As I hop onto the bike, he asks, "So, how was it?"

I smile. "I think I'm going to like it here."

He grins. "That's my Aishu."

As we ride home, the wind brushing against my face, I realize something - this is the happiest I've ever been.
