Chapter 13: Wrapped in New Beginnings

Saisha's POV

By the time we returned to our room last night, Pranay looked exhausted. The long hours of photography, the endless ceremonies, and the emotional moments had drained him completely.

As he ran a hand through his hair, his gaze landed on the single bed in the center of the room. I saw his brows lift slightly before he let out a quiet sigh.

"I'll take the couch," he muttered, grabbing a pillow.

Before he could move, I reached out and gently held his wrist.

"You can sleep on the bed," I said softly.

His eyes met mine, a flicker of hesitation in them. "Saisha, I—"

"It's fine, Pranay," I reassured him. "You're tired. The couch won't be comfortable."

For a moment, he just stood there, searching my face for something. Then, with a small nod, he placed the pillow back and slipped under the covers.

I lay down too, keeping a respectful distance, but the warmth of his presence made me strangely aware of everything - his steady breathing, the slight rustling of the sheets, the quiet comfort that surrounded us.

Before I knew it, exhaustion took over, and I drifted into sleep.

The first thing I felt when I woke up was warmth.

Not just from the blanket, but something firm and solid wrapped around me.

My eyes fluttered open, and my breath hitched.

Pranay's arms were loosely wrapped around me.

We were tangled together - my head resting lightly against his chest, one of his hands resting on my waist, while mine was curled near his shoulder.

My heart pounded. How did this happen?!

I froze, unsure of whether I should move. The warmth of his body was oddly comforting, like being wrapped in a soft embrace on a winter morning.

I bit my lip, hesitating.

Then he stirred.

His grip on me loosened slightly as he shifted, mumbling something incoherent in his sleep. That's when I took my chance to slowly move away, careful not to wake him.

I slipped out of bed and refreshed myself, needing a moment to calm my racing heart.

By the time I was reading a book, fully absorbed in its pages, Pranay finally woke up - in the afternoon.

I glanced at him, amused as he stretched, his hair a mess, his voice still groggy.

"Morning," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

"It's afternoon," I corrected, hiding a smile.

He blinked, looking around. "Really?" Then he sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I was that tired, huh?"

I nodded. "You barely got any rest the past few days. It's good that you slept in."

He yawned and got up to refresh himself. When he came out, his usual energy was back, and soon, we were sitting at a small café nearby, having a late brunch.

Pranay hummed in appreciation as he took a bite of his food. "I swear, food always tastes better after a good sleep."

I smiled. "Then you must be enjoying this a lot."

He chuckled. "I am."

A comfortable silence settled between us as we ate. The past few days had been a whirlwind, but here, in this quiet moment, everything felt peaceful.

After a while, he looked up at me. "Since the wedding is over, we don't have to rush back immediately."

I blinked. "We don't?"

He shook his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "Nope. We have a little time. So... how about we explore Udaipur?"

I stared at him, my heart skipping a beat.

"Explore?"

"Yeah. You've never been here before, right?"

I nodded slowly.

"Then let's make the most of it," he said with a grin. "Let me show you the beauty of this place."

Something about the way he said it made my heart flutter.
