Vivaan's pov

I finally finished the last stroke on my paintings in the studio, the evening light streaming in through the window, casting a warm glow on everything around me. I stretched my stiff muscles, trying to shake off the fatigue from the long hours of work. But something felt different tonight. Roohi would be home soon, and I couldn't wait to see her.

The thought of her always made me smile, and I was eager to surprise her with dinner.

Deciding to make something special, I walked to the kitchen. Roohi had mentioned once that she loved butter chicken, and I thought tonight might be the perfect time to try making it for her. I wasn’t the best cook, but I liked the idea of doing something nice for her. As the spices started to fill the air, I couldn't help but smile, imagining the look on her face when she tasted it.

I carefully marinated the chicken, making sure to blend the right amount of garlic, ginger, and spices. While the chicken simmered in the  creamy sauce, I rolled out dough for naan, placing them on the hot skillet. The warmth from the oven felt comforting, and the thought of Roohi coming home to this meal made me feel like I was doing something right.

The kitchen soon filled with the delicious aroma of butter chicken and naan.

As I finished preparing everything, I heard the familiar sound of the doorbell. Roohi was home. I quickly wiped my hands and walked to the door, my heart skipping a beat.

Roohi was home.

She came in, tired but glowing, like she always did after a long day at work. She smiled at me as she walked past, her usual grace never failing to take my breath away.

“I’ll freshen up,” she said, heading to the bathroom.

I went over to the counter where I’d set aside a cup of coffee. She loved it in the evenings, and I knew she’d appreciate the little gesture. I brewed it just the way she liked, a little more milk and just the right amount of sweetness. By the time she came out, I had the cup ready for her.

Her face lit up the moment she saw it. "You made coffee for me?" she asked, her voice soft but full of appreciation.

“Of course,” I said, handing it to her. “I know you had a long day.”

She took the cup from my hand, her fingers brushing against mine in a way that made me feel warmth spread through my chest. "You're coffee always tastes awesome...i have become a huge fan of it," she said, taking a sip and sighing in contentment.

As she settled down at the table, she started telling me about her day. “You won’t believe it. My CEO , he gifted me something today," she said with excitement. "He also said he couldn’t make it to our wedding, but he invited us over to his place for dinner soon.”

"I am really happy that you have people who care for you roohi", I said to her.

She smiled at me, the way her eyes sparkled when she spoke about her work always made me feel proud of her. “Yeah, he’s a great man, he is like a father to me.”

"Come on let's have dinner. "

I led her to the table, where I had already set everything up.

The moment she sat down, I could see the anticipation in her eyes. “It smells amazing,” she said, her voice full of appreciation.

The moment I opened the vessel, she spoke her voice filled with happiness,
"You made butter chicken for me, You are the best vivaan", I chuckled at her enthusiasm.

I served her the butter chicken and naan, watching her eagerly take the first bite. The moment her lips touched the food, a soft moan of delight escaped her. “Vivaan, this is amazing,” she said, her eyes closing for a moment as she savored the taste.

"I don't know what I did to deserve food made from your hands," she said, her voice filled with happiness.

I smiled, feeling a sense of pride fill me. "I'm glad you like it," I said, taking a bite of my own.

We ate together, sharing small stories of our day, laughing at some silly things that happened at work . There was something so special about those quiet moments with her, the way we could enjoy simple things together without needing anything else.

After we finished dinner, she handed me a few shopping bags she had set aside when she walked in. I had seen them earlier and assumed she had bought something for herself. But when I opened them, I couldn’t believe my eyes.

Hoodies. Not just one, but eight of them. And they were all perfect, exactly the kind I loved, but never seemed to have enough of.

"Roohi... how did you—" I stammered, overwhelmed with emotion. I looked at her, my heart swelling.

“I remembered you mentioned how much you liked them,” she said with a shy smile. “You didn’t have enough, so I thought I'd get you some.”

I couldn’t say anything for a moment. The feeling of having someone care for me like this, truly understand me... it was overwhelming. It made me think back to my mother, how she would always get me my favorite things when I was younger. But after she left... no one had done this for me.

Before I could stop myself, I pulled Roohi into a tight hug. I buried my face in her hair, trying to fight back the tears that were suddenly threatening to spill.

“Thank you,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. “I... I don’t know what I did to deserve you.”

She didn’t say anything at first. She just held me tightly, and in that moment, it felt like everything was right in the world.

I couldn’t explain it,how much this simple act  meant to me. It was the little things, the everyday moments, that truly made me realize how much I cared for her. How much I needed her.

We stayed like that for a while, holding each other in the quiet of the night. There were no words, but it didn’t matter. In her embrace, I found everything I had been missing.

And as the evening drew to a close, I knew that this was just the beginning of something beautiful , something that, no matter what life threw at us, we would always have each other.

Roohi’s pov

I could see the happiness in Vivaan’s eyes as he looked at me, his expression soft, like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Without a word, he pulled me into a hug. I felt the warmth of his arms around me, but there was something else wet on my neck, was it… tears?

I pulled away just slightly to see his face, and my heart melted when I saw the tears in his eyes. They shimmered as they fell down his cheeks.

"Vivaan, why are you crying?" I asked, my voice gentle as I wiped away his tears, brushing my lips over his forehead in a soft kiss.

He let out a shaky breath, his voice quiet. "When I was younger, my mom always used to buy me clothes, a new set every time she got herself a dress. It was something we always did together. But after she passed away, no one ever did that for me again. No one ever thought about it the way she did."

His words were so raw, so real, and it made my heart ache for him. I hugged him even tighter, my hands gently caressing his back. "I’m here for you, Vivaan," I whispered softly. "You don’t have to face this alone."

We stayed like that for a while, in the peaceful silence, both of us lost in the moment. But soon, Vivaan gently pulled away, a small, almost hesitant smile forming on his face.

"I have something to show you, Roohi," he said, his voice a little more cheerful now.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. He took my hand, guiding me through the house until we reached a door I hadn’t noticed before. It was near his studio, a room that had always seemed empty and unused. He stopped in front of the door, and with a playful smile, he closed my eyes with his hands.

"Vivaan, what are you—"

"Trust me," he whispered, leading me inside.

When he finally opened the door and released his hands from my eyes, I blinked in confusion at first. But the moment I saw it, I couldn’t help the gasp that escaped my lips.

"Vivaan… what is this?" I asked, my voice full of wonder.

The room had transformed. It was now a beautiful, bright workspace, just for me. There was a new chair, a desk, and shelves neatly filled with supplies. The walls were decorated with vibrant, colorful paintings that looked like they came straight from his studio. My heart swelled with emotion as I took it all in.

"I thought you might like a space of your own," Vivaan said softly, his gaze warm. "Something just for you."

Tears welled up in my eyes as I stepped inside, my hand brushing over the smooth surface of the desk. "Vivaan… this is… this is so sweet of you. I love it. Thank you so much." I hugged him again, feeling overwhelmed with gratitude.

He pulled me into his arms and kissed my forehead gently. "I just want you to be happy, Roohi," he murmured. "Anything for you."

We stood there for a moment, and I couldn’t help but smile, feeling the love between us growing deeper with every passing second.

After a while, I broke the silence, my mind turning to something a little more fun. "How about we watch a movie?"

Vivaan raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. "A movie, huh? Sure. What movie do you want to watch?"

I grinned, teasing, "You decide. "

His eyes twinkled. "Anything my wife wishes," he said with a wink.

That simple word, wife, made my stomach flutter with butterflies. It was like hearing him say it made everything feel even more real, even more... ours.

"How about 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'?" I suggested, my favorite movie.

Vivaan’s smile grew. "Perfect choice. I’ll go get some ice cream."

"Vivaan, you know my favorite flavor," I asked him, surprised.

"Of course, I do. I remember everything about you," he replied with a soft chuckle, as he walked toward the kitchen.

I quickly set up the living room, arranging blankets and pillows, making it cozy for the two of us. When Vivaan came back, he handed me a bowl of ice cream,my favorite flavor, just like he promised. I leaned back against the couch, feeling the comfort of his presence beside me.

"Here you go," he said softly, his voice low and soothing. "Enjoy."

I smiled, taking a spoonful of the ice cream and savoring it, all the while leaning my head against his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me, pulling me closer. I could feel the warmth of his body, the steadiness of his breath as we watched the movie together. It was a perfect moment, one I’d cherish forever.

Vivaan gently took the bowl from my hands after a while and placed it on the table. He pulled me into his embrace, my back resting against his chest as we continued to watch the movie. His presence was all I needed, his comfort, his love.

As the movie ended and the lights dimmed, I felt him whisper in my ear, "You are my happiness, my everything , Roohi. I’m so happy that we’re together."

I smiled, closing my eyes for a moment, feeling the warmth of his words seep into my heart. "I feel the same way, Vivaan," I murmured softly, as I cuddled into his embrace, knowing that this was just the beginning of our forever.
