Chapter 14 : The Wedding Night

"Love doesn't need grand gestures; it thrives in the quiet moments where trust and understanding take root."

Right after the wedding, Vivaan and Roohi returned to Vivaan's home, a place that felt both familiar and full of new possibilities. The house, though it had always been his, now held a different meaning. It was where their new chapter together would begin.

As Roohi stepped into the house for the first time as his wife, she felt a wave of emotion. This was where they would start their life together, where their memories would begin to unfold.

"I can't believe this is my new home," Roohi whispered, her voice filled with wonder as she looked around at the cozy living room with soft lighting and simple, yet elegant decor.

Vivaan, who had been carrying their luggage inside, stopped and turned to her with a warm smile. "It's our space now, Roohi. We'll make it ours, together."

Roohi smiled back, her heart swelling with affection for him. The house already felt more like home just by having him there beside her.

They moved through the house, exploring the rooms, deciding where to place their things and adding little touches to make it feel more personal. As the evening progressed, they cooked dinner together, sharing the simple joy of being in each other's company without any rush.

As the evening wound down, they sat on the couch, enjoying a quiet moment after the day's small but meaningful tasks. Vivaan glanced at Roohi, and for a moment, their eyes locked. The silence between them was comfortable and easy nothing needed to be said.

Later that night, as the moonlight poured softly through the bedroom window, casting a gentle glow on their bed, Roohi changed into her nightwear. She moved slowly, nervous but excited about everything that had happened so far.

Vivaan entered the room shortly after, wearing a simple t-shirt and pants, looking like he was just as lost in the moment as she was. He caught her gaze and smiled shyly.

"I thought we could, you know, take our time tonight," Vivaan said quietly, his words almost tentative, as if unsure how to express what was in his heart. "We don't have to rush anything."

Roohi felt a warmth spread in her chest at his words. She had always imagined this moment, her wedding night but never had she expected it to be so gentle, so filled with care. She walked over to him, her heart racing with the quiet emotions she was trying to process.

"I'm glad you said that," Roohi replied, her voice soft. "I don't want to rush either. We have all the time in the world to get to know each other better."

Vivaan nodded, a genuine smile crossing his face. "Yeah, we do. And I'm happy with that. "

Roohi's heart fluttered at how thoughtfully he spoke, how much consideration he showed. He had always been quiet, but in moments like these, his words were enough to make her feel safe, cherished.

She reached out, placing her hand on his arm. "Vivaan, I know we're both in a new chapter, but I'm not afraid. I trust you. I trust us."

His eyes softened as he took her hand, pulling her gently towards him. "I trust you too, Roohi. More than you know. I'm glad we have this time to just... be with each other. It feels right."

They stood there for a moment, just holding hands, the quiet intimacy of the moment filling the room. The softness of their connection, the unspoken bond between them, was more than enough.

As they finally settled into bed, they faced each other, their hands still intertwined. The silence was comfortable, the kind that only comes when two people truly understand each other, without the need for words.

Vivaan shifted slightly, his voice breaking the stillness. "Roohi, I know I'm not always the best with words. But I want you to know... I'm here, with you, for as long as you'll have me."

Her heart swelled at his words. "I'm here too, Vivaan. I don't need grand gestures or big promises. I just need you, with me."

Vivaan's lips curved into a small smile, and he nodded. "Then, we're good."

They both lay there, close but not touching, their thoughts mingling in the quiet of the night. Despite the newness of everything, despite the uncertainty that still lingered, Roohi felt a deep sense of peace.

Vivaan, ever the introvert, didn't say much, but his presence spoke volumes. He had opened up in his own way, and that was enough for Roohi. She leaned over slightly, placing her head on his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart.

"Good night, Vivaan," Roohi whispered, her voice barely a breath.

"Good night, Roohi," he murmured in return.

As Roohi gently placed her head on his chest, Vivaan felt a surge of warmth flood through him. Her soft breath, the delicate weight of her resting against him,it was all so new, yet it felt like something he had always longed for. His heart, which had often felt guarded and quiet, now beat in sync with hers, as if they were slowly becoming two halves of a whole.

Vivaan closed his eyes, savoring the peacefulness that wrapped around them both. It was a simplicity that calmed his restless soul-a comfort in the stillness of the night. In the quiet moments like these, he didn't need to fill the space with words. Just her presence, the way her trust in him was so evident, made everything seem right.

He could feel her heartbeat, faint but steady, just like his own. It was a quiet reassurance that they were in this together, and even though they were at the beginning of something new, the connection between them already felt like home. Vivaan let out a slow, contented breath, his hand subconsciously reaching up to gently caress her hair, as though to memorize the sensation of having her so close, so trusted, so utterly his.

For someone who often found solace in solitude, this closeness was a revelation. Vivaan had always kept his emotions guarded, but tonight, with Roohi in his arms, he didn't feel the need to hide anything. It was as if all the walls he had built around himself began to melt away, replaced by the simple, undeniable truth: she was there with him, and that was enough.

A soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he whispered into the night, more to himself than to her, "I didn't know it could feel like this..."

His fingers gently brushed over her hair again, a silent promise that, no matter what, he would be there for her, in his own quiet, steadfast way.

And with that, they drifted into sleep, their hands still lightly touching, their hearts beating in a rhythm of quiet understanding.
