Hello myyyy dear fam,

This story is incredibly close to my heart. Durga – Breaking Societal Stigmas was born during an on-spot story writing competition - it was unexpected that this story turned out as I was high on my emotions that day, it was like an unexpected moment where emotions, memories, and courage poured onto the page. To my surprise and joy, it went on to win first place. But beyond the recognition, this story became a voice for every girl who was ever told “no,” for every woman who was told to shrink herself to fit into society’s narrow molds.

Durga’s journey isn’t just fiction. It mirrors the harsh realities still faced by many in our country today. Just because we don't always see or hear about them doesn't mean these injustices are gone. Dowry, child marriage, gender bias, the silencing of widows - these still exist, tucked away behind closed doors and sealed lips.

This story is my small way of shaking those walls, of reminding us that change begins when even one person dares to break the chain.
